Diabetes mellitus is a lifestyle /heriditary disease affecting a large section of the world population. It will soon reach pandemic proportions not unlike COVID- 19 but without making headlines since it is spreading silently and causing slow but irreparable damage.Almost all the patients are asymptomatic at first and by the time they start feeling the pinch, damage has already been done.An oft quoted statistic is every 30 seconds a leg is lost to diabetic foot amputation.Something more unfortunate is not this statistic, but the next one that follows -85% of them could have been prevented if the problems had been recognised and rectified early.
We endeavour to reach out to all who are affected by this malady and all those involved in its treatment. To provide practical and cost effective solutions for diabetic foot problems from something as seemingly insignificant like a foot callosity to life threatening conditions like necrotising fasciitis. We provide a one stop solution to all your foot problems by involving team members from different specialities starting from podiatry assessment- pedopodograms ,vascular assessment(doppler study, angiograms), neuropathy assessment (VPT,nerve conduction studies),gait assessment ,footwear solutions to highly specialised surgeries like Revascularisation,Charcot foot reconstruction and Free flap microsurgery.
A diabetic foot examination is done to check for foot health problems in people with diabetes. When ulcers or other foot problems are found and treated early, it can prevent serious complications.
We check your legs and feet to look for swelling. People with kidney, heart or liver disease may also retain fluid in their feet but it can also be a sign of infection or blood clots. We also check the pulses in your feet and look for any skin problems.
In the foot lab your feet will be examined more closely with carefully calibrated medical devices to detect early changes or damage to your feet before they are clinically appreciable so that timely intervention is possible to stop further damage.
Foot wear for the diabetic are like helmets for your head .Some foot wear may look bulky and cumbersome but are essential to protect the feet and prevent amputation. Only diabetics without neuropathy or deformity can wear normal foot wear. Once neuropathy, deformity ,callosity or ulcers develops the footwear needs to have an MCR /MCP/Plastizote insole and be modified /customised/or moulded.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean.
The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.

JUL. 27, 2024Hi sir, this is Bobby. I want you to know that your staffs are the best, they have the inbound talents in them not just to cure but to serve the people with their whole heart, to do the best, I truly want wish you and the whole SUT team a great success in the upcoming days. Specially I want to thank Dr. Vishak Sharma and his Co-worker's who assisted him, the nurses who worked from 01/04/2020 to 07/04/2020 who took care of my grandfather in the room 217 (James soman). I really want to thank the doctor who took the time and his effort to make my grandfather's leg better. His leg was treated in a local clinic in vellanad, clinic in peyad, in jubilee hospital. These clinics n hospital couldn't make any difference to my grandfather's leg. But this doctor has the inbound talent, he needs to be appreciated in the SUT day. May be as an operations manager you might not get time to see the things or analyze the work of these precious people. My grandfather has a huge respect for this doctor and his hardwork. These people needs a better appreciation from the department who work in the covid - 19 days. It's better to appreciate at the right time. I hope that you will be able pass on this message to your higher authorities to make sure that he should be appreciated. Now I feel that this hospital is a family hospital to me. I pray and hope for a betterment of this institution. Wishing you the very best in all the activities of this hospital.

Dear Dr Visakh and team, Hope all of you are doing fine. My father’s toe wound has completely healed and he is doing fine now. Wanted to thank you all for sharing our concern and pain and taking the necessary steps. Though we had some apprehension bringing him to the hospital during the pandemic situation, your reassurance and care at hospital gave us great confidence. The removal of the toe nail reduced the pain considerably and was a big relief. Having you available for teleconsulting also reassured us of your timely advice during follow up. Once again Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Keep up the good service. God bless you!
